Mielőtt Balira érkeztünk próbáltuk kitalálni mennyit is ér a helyi pénz. A szállásunk egy hónapra 7 millió Rúpia, az most mennyi is igazából? Azt már Skóciában megtanultam, hogy nem szabad forintban számolni, mindig a helyi viszonyokhoz kell hasonlítani az árakat. Így próbáltunk egy viszonylag könnyű átváltást találni, hogy mégis el tudjunk igazodni ezekben a nagy számokban. 50000 Rúpia = 3 Font.
Na de mennyit is ér ez a 50000? Ez volt a borravaló a sofőrünknek, ami hihetetlen boldoggá tette egy háromórás út után. Ennyiért bérelhetsz egy robogót egy napra és ennyiből két és félszer tele is tankolhatod. Ennyi két tál leves egy olcsóbb étteremben, egy főétel is ekörül mozog egy középkategóriás étteremben. Ennyi volt Phill hajvágása. Ennyi egy rövidnadrág ára.
Viszont barátokat találni itt a Föld másik felén, az megfizethetetlen!
Before we arrived to Bali we tried to found out how much the local money worths. Our accommodation for the month is 7 million Rupiah, but how much is that exactly?
I have learnt it in Scotland already, that I should not change the prices to Hungarian Forints but we rather compare the prices to the local possibilities. To be able to understand these big numbers we tried to find a convenient exchange which we could use in our daily life. 50000 Rupiah = 3 Pounds. But how much is this 50000?
That much was our tip to our driver, which made him so happy after a three hours drive to Amed. That much cost to rent a scooter for a day or tank it full two and a half times. That much cost two chicken soup in a cheap restaurant or a main dish in a middle priced restaurant. That much was Phill's haircut. That much is a pair of shorts.
But finding friends here on the other side of the Earth is priceless.
