1. Thaiföld mérete majdnem akkora, mint Spanyolországé, ezzel az 50. legnagyobb területű ország.
2. Az éveket nem csak a Gergely naptár szerint számítják, hanem a Buddhista naptár szerint is, így most 2560-at írunk.
3. Koh Tao-ra először 1947-ben érkeztek állandó lakosok, előtte 1933-tól politikai börtönként funkcionált.

8. Nekem ez sokkoló volt, mert nem voltam erre felkészülve... A WC-be nem szabad papírt beledobni... Helyette van egy kis zuhany hozzá csatlakoztatva, Phill próbál nyugtatni.
9. A helyiek a húst az utcán kitéve árulják egész nap, nincs hűtve... Mi a húst abban az egyetlen boltban vesszük, ahol hűtőből kerül ki az áru és reméljük a legjobbakat. Viszont lehet kapni disznó fejet, farkat, csirke püspökfalatot!
10. A sziget egy dzsungel, főképp harsogóan zöld, nincs annyi virág, mint Balin volt.
11. Beköltöztünk a lakásunkba a harmadik napunkon a szigeten és ez annyira boldogító érzés, hogy valahol otthon lehetünk!
12. Phill elkezdett tanítani! Hat diákja van, akik két napon belül az ő neve alatt képzett búvárok lesznek!
13. Thai Baht a helyi valuta. Kicsit nehéz nekem ezt átszámolni, mi mennyit is ér, talán azért, ert már nem töltünk annyi időt egy országban sem, hogy össze tudjuk vetni a tapasztalatainkat. 25 Baht (kb 200 Ft) az olyan egység ár sok mindenre, szendvics a boltban, apró háztartási cikk, egy üdítő egy étteremben. Kb 150 egy robogó bérlése egy napra, egy étteremben két főre kb 400-800 Baht a fogyasztás átlagosan helytől függően.
13+1. A napokban kerül sor a tavaly elhunyt, a nép által dícsőített, király temetésére, aki 70 éven át uralkodott. Az egész ország mély gyászban van, csütörtök délutántól minden bezár, nem lehetett például alkoholt venni már előtte egy nappal és van ahol utána pár nappal se, viszont szerdán ingyen ételet osztottak, nem csak a helyieknek, de nekem is adtak. Valahogy én is feketébe öltöznék ha lenne. Még a Google is fekete...

2. They are not just using the Gregorian calendar but also the Buddhist as well, this is the year 2560.
3. The first permanent habitants arrived to Koh Tao in 1947. Before this time from 1933 the island started to be used as a political prison.
4. Nowadays around 1300 people live here, but almost 100.000 tourists arrive every year.
5. There are huge butterflies on this island, some of them are bigger than my palm.
6. This is not high season now, so I got a strange feeling as in Bali, once there were only a few people left in our village.
7. There is no fresh water on the island, it has to deliver to here, so we can drink only bottled water. But almost everything has to be delivered to here, that is why the life a bit more expensive here.
8. I got shocked, because I was not expecting this at all... You cannot put the toilet paper into the toilet... Instead of this there is a little shower attached to the seat, Phill try to calm me down.
9. The locals are selling the meat on the street, the meat is lying there the whole day without any cooling... We have bought meat from the one and only shop we found so far where the meat is coming from the fridge and we hope the best. On the other hand you can buy some special meat like pig head and tail, chicken bottoms!
10. This island is a jungle, there is not that many flowers as it was in Bali.
11. We moved in to our apartment on the third day of our staying on the island. It is such a lovely feeling to be at home somewhere after a long time.
12. Phill started to teach! He has a group of six and once they finish their course in two days time, in their certificate Phill's name will standing!
13. The local currency is the Thai Baht. I am still struggling what it is worth exactly, mainly because we lost the connection with all the countries to be able to compere it. 25 Baht (approximately 50 pence) is a kind of unit price for many small value thing like a toastie in the shop, small household stuff, a soft drink in a bar. You can rent a scooter for a day for 150, eating for two in a restaurant is somewhere between 400-800 Baht in average depends on the place.
13+1. In the next few days will be the cremation of the beloved King of the Thai nation, who passed away last year after 70 years on the throne. The whole nation has a deep grief, from 2pm on Thursday everything will be closed. For examples you couldn't have bought alcohol since a day before and some of the places in the next few days after the ceremony. But yesterday there was free food for everybody, not only for the locals, but I received some as well. I wish I could have dress to black as well, if I had had any with me... Even the Google is black today...
