A sziget túloldalán - On the other side
Elhatároztam, hogy megpróbálom gyalogszerrel kicsit jobban felfedezni a szigetet. Tanulmányoztam a térképet és arra jutottam a sziget délkeleti oldalára könnyedén át tudok jutni.
Tudni kell, hogy Koh Tao olyan, mint egy nagy szikla, hegyre fel, hegyről le utakkal. Nem is tudom miért lepődtem meg rajta, mikor igencsak meredekre fordult az út és rólam meg ömleni a víz. Az út mellett néhol belátni a dzsungelbe, mindig megdöbbenek rajta, milyen áthatolhatatlan, mennyi élet, mennyi zöld van minden négyzetcentiméteren.
Nagyon érdekes volt hogy találtam egy kis patakot, ez csak az esős szezonban létezik. Láttam mókust, ahogy mint egy mozgó hangjegy cikázott a milliónyi villanydrót között.
Viszont volt néhány dolog, amire előtte sose gondoltam és most szembesültem csak vele. Sokszor eszembe se jut, vajon ezen a kicsi szigeten honnan jön az áram? Hova megy a szemét? Miért is gyűjtjük szelektíven a műanyagpalackokat? A válasz itt volt a sziget kellős közepén. Érdekes volt, még ha nem is szép látvány, de ez is az élet része.
I decided that I try to explore a bit the island on foot. I carefully studied the map and I found that to the South-East part of the island it is easy to reach.
You should know that Koh Tao is like a big rock with many uphill and downhill roads. I don't really know why I surprised when the road started to be very steep and the water was just hit out on my skin. Next to the road some places you can see inside the jungle, it is incredibly dense you can't see through, it has lots of life in it, lots of green in every square centimetre.
It was exciting to find a little stream which is existing only in the rainy season. I saw a squirrel which looked like a moving music note in between the millions of electric wires.
But there was a few things which I was never thinking about before and just now recognised it. I think we are not really thinking about where the electricity is coming from this small island? Where the waste is going? Why we collect selective the plastic bottles? The answer was here in the middle of the island.
It was interesting to see even it is not beautiful but it is part of the life as well.
