Gill & Carrie
Nagyon vártuk ezt a napot, hogy látogatók jöjjenek hozzánk. Gillt és Carriet én tavaly ismertem meg, Phillnek Gill már hosszú évek óta jó barátja. Minden szempontból különleges volt ez a látogatás. Nem csak azért, mert valahogy az otthonosság érzését hozták el nekünk, lehettünk vendéglátók, mondhatni Koh Tao-i "őslakosok", hanem valahogy a barátok kézzelfogható jelenléte egyszerűen olyan hétköznapi csoda, amit talán nem értékelünk megfelelően mindig, ha egy országban, vagy akár egy városban vagyunk.
De ami a legfontosabb volt, hogy Gill és Carrie voltak Phill első tanítványai, akiket ő vezetett be a búvárkodás világába. Ők az én hőseim. Mindhárman! Ahogy megküzdöttek az álmaikért, a félelmeikkel, a nehézségekkel, a kihívásokkal, önmagukkal, az bámulatos volt és nekem is rengeteg energiát adott.
Amíg együtt voltunk, kipróbáltunk sok mindent, volt amit életünkben először. Voltunk masszázson, ettünk a francia pékségben, a helyi palacsintásnál, sütüttünk húsikat a koreai barbequenál saját privát páros grillen az asztalunknál, megvolt az első házibulink, ahol tízen voltunk plusz egy kutyus, készítettem padlizsán krémet serpenyőben, focibiliárdoztunk, sokat beszélgettünk, nevettünk, ismerkedtünk.
Most hogy újra ketten vagyunk, megint kicsit más az életünk, picit szomorúak vagyunk, hogy véget ért ez a látogatás, de ugyanakkor ez is segít, hogy majd el tudjuk dönteni, merre tovább...
We were so much looking forward to this day, that we will have some visitors. I met Gill and Carrie last year, but Phill knew Gill for long long time. They are very good friends of us. This visit was so special in many aspects. Not only we had a unique being at home feeling, but we could have been a host, we can say almost "locals" in Koh Tao, but somehow the presence of our friends it is a everyday miracle, which we may not appreciate enough once we are close to each other in the same country or even in the same town.
But what made this visit the most special that Gill and Carrie were Phill's first open water students, who he introduced to the world of diving on this entry level. They are my heroes. All three of them! The way how they were fighting for their dreams, with their difficulties, with the challenges, with themselves that was amazing and gave to me as well lot of energy.
While we were together we tried many things, some of them we did first time in our life. We went to a massage, ate in the French Bakery, tried some local pancakes, grilled some meat at the Korean BBQ on our private table grill, we had our first party in our apartment where we had 10 of us plus a doggy, I did aubergine cream in a frying pan, we played foot pool, we were chatting, laughing a lot and got know each other better and better.
Now as we again just two of us, our life is different again, we are sad a bit that this visit is over, but in the same time it helps us to decide at one point where we would like to stay...
