Kókuszdió - Coconut

Mindenfelé kókuszpálmák vannak nálunk. Csak a teraszunkról 11-et látok. Tudom, hogy friss kókuszdiót árulnak a boltokban, amibe egy szívószálat tesznek, de valahogy sose értettem, hogy jön le a fáról a kókuszdió?
Az egyik délután nagy robajra lettem figyelmes! Rögtön kimentem a folyósóra és láttam, hogy most egy titokról fog lehullani a lepel! A ház legfelső emeletén egy hosszúnyelű késsel piszkálták le a kókuszdiókat a fáról. Ahogy földet értek, mintha egy bomba csapódott volna be. Néhány rögtön ereszteni kezdte a levét, de a többség túlélte. A kertben összefutottam a gondnokunkkal, aki vagy 6-7 darab óriási gyümölcsöt cipelt és megkérdezte, akarok-e egyet. Hát persze! De hogy fogjuk kinyitni? Erre mondta, megcsinálja nekem és egy baltával levágta a tetejét.
Ez volt Verena egyik búcsúajándéka aznap este.

U.i. Persze továbbra is rejtély, hogy jönnek le a kókuszdiók, ha nincs mellettük egy háromemeletes ház...

Everywhere we go we see coconut palm trees. Only from our balcony I can see 11. I know that you can buy fresh coconut in the shops, in the middle they put a straw to drink out the water but I had no clue about it, how it is coming off from the tree?
One afternoon I heard a big bang from outside. I jumped out quickly to the corridor and I knew already that this big secret will be unveiled. They were cut off from the tree with a long handle knife from the top floor. Once they reached the ground the sound was like a bomb explosion. Some of the coconuts started to leak, but most of them was intact. In the garden I met with our housemaster, who carried 6-7 huge fruit and he asked if I wanted one. Of course I wanted! But how we will open it? He said, he would do it for me and he was using an axe to chop off the top of it.
This was one of our farewell present for Verena on the same evening.

P.s. Of course it is still a mystery, how on earth it is possible to get the coconuts from the tree if there is no three floored house next to it...
