Tasmania: Megjöttünk! - We arrived!
Ez egy hosszú nap volt. Nagyon hosszú. Cairnsből először Sydneybe, majd Sydneyből Hobartba repültünk. Mindössze 3+2 órás repülőút és egy óra időeltolódás volt! Távolságban olyan, mint Budapestről a Kanári-szigetekre repülni.
Az úton idefele nagyon nagy élmény volt a repürőből látni a Nagy Korallyátonyt, ami egyébként állítólag az űrből is látszik. Nem hiába, hiszen több, mint 2000km-en keresztül húzódik. Ami a zátonyok kifehéredését illeti, Phill látta, hogyan néz ki, amikor él és milyen, amikor már nem a korall. A tenger hőmérsékletének emelkedése a korallban élő, színt adó komponenst érinti először, ez távozik mélyebb vizekbe, ha túl meleg van. Viszont ha 3 hónapon belül visszatér, akkor nem pusztul el a korall! Illetve azt is hallottuk, hogy képesek újrafejlődni, de ezért nekünk, embereknek, sokat kell tenni.
Aztán mikor már Tazmánia felett repültünk, az tűnt fel, hogy milyen zöld, amit látunk. Ez a sziget területében kétharmada Magyarországénak, de mindössze félmillióan lakják. A fővárosa Hobart, ahol a lakosság 40% él.
Na elmondom, mert így éltem meg, mikor kijöttünk a reptérről azt éreztem, hogy hazaértünk. Nem tudom, mi okozta, a hosszú utazás, a levegő hűs frissessége vagy az vagy hogy este kilencig világos van? De itt vagyunk és alig várom, hogy felfedezzük. Ehhez kaptunk is egy "kis" autót.😊
It was a long day. A very long one. First we flew from Cairns to Sydney, then from Sydney to Hobart. Only 3+2 hours flight and an hour time difference. This is almost like travelling from Edinburg to the Canary Islands.
On our trip it was a beautiful experience to see the Great Barrier Reef from the air, which you can see from the space as well. Well, don't forget, it is more than 2000 km long. Regarding the bleaching of the reefs, Phill saw it how it looks like when it is alive and when it is dead. The raising sea temperature effects on that component of the coral which makes it coloured. If it is too warm, it is sinking down to cooler regions. But if it returns within 3 months, this process is still reversible. And also we heard, that the dead reefs are able to regenerate themselves, but we, humans, have to do a lot for this.
Then once we were above Tasmania, the first thing I recognised, that the land is so green, what we can see. This island is the same size as Ireland, but only half a million people live here. The capital is Hobart, where 40% of the whole population is staying.
Well, I am telling you, what I felt, when we finally got out from the airport. I felt that we are at home. I don't know, why I had this feeling, is it because we had this long journey, the coolness of the air or there is daylight until 9pm? But we are here and I can't wait to explore it. For this we got a "wee" car. 😊
