Tazmán nem-állatkert - Tasmanian unzoo

A legemlékezetesebb kirándulásunk maradt a legvégre, azt hiszem. Nem mehettünk el anélkül, hogy a tazmán ördögöt nem láttuk.
A park, nem állatkert volt. Sokkal inkább egy nyitott iskola, ahol megismerkedhetünk az itt élő állatok mindennapjaival testközelből. Azt hittük egy órát leszünk itt maximum, de két óra után úgy jöttünk el, hogy tudtunk volna még maradni. Nagyon jól volt megcsinálva, hogy minden fél órában más előadás, bemutató, interakció volt. Nem volt se tömeg, se sietség.
Az első program a kengurú etetés volt. Hangosan, szívből kacagtunk, mikor ezek a különleges lények a kis mancsukkal fogták a kezünket, hogy kinyalogassák a tápot belőle. Nem harapnak, csak csipkedik a füvet, ami emiatt olyan, mintha egy golfpályán lennénk. Amit nem tudtam, hogy folyamatosan terhesek a nőstények. Még a zsebben fejlődik a baba, mikor már a méhében ott az újabb embrió. Amint a másik elhagyja a zsebet, már jöhet is a következő.
Ezután mentünk ördögnézőbe. Gyakorlatilag ez a kiskutya méretű ördög egy merő izom. Az állkapcsa a termetéhez viszonyítva a legerősebb. A sok izom, viszont nem hagy sok helyet az agynak, ami akkora mindössze, mint a patkányé. Nem válogatósak, mindent megesznek, szőröstül-bőröstűl. Mikor az arcukat elemésztő rák megtámadta őket, 90%-uk pusztult el. Most védik és tenyésztik őket, itt meg a boldog nyugdíjas éveiket töltik.
Volt még madárbemutató, amiben a legjobb az volt, hogy a gondozójuk, mintha csak az egyik családtagjáról mesélt volna, úgy ismertetett meg minket velük.

Our most memorable excursion remained to the end, I think. We could not leave Tasmania without seeing a Tasmanian devil.
This park was not a zoo, it was an unzoo. It was more like an open education centre, where we could see the here living animals daily life. We thought we will stay here for maximum an hour, but after two hours we were coming away with the feeling that we could have stayed longer. It was done brilliantly, every half an hour there was a different talk, show, interaction. There were no crowd and no rush.
The first program we caught the kangaroo feeding. We were laughing from our heart, when these incredible animals were keeping our hands with their little paws to leak out the food from there. They are not bitting, just gently pick the grass, which felt like a golf course because of this. What I didn't know that the female ones are always pregnant. They still have in their pocket the baby, when in their womb there is already a new embryo. Once the baby kangaroo leaves the pocket, the other can start his life.
After this we went to check the devils. These small dog size devils are made from 100% of muscles, Their jaw comparing to their size is the strongest. But the lots of muscles doesn't let too much space for their brain, which has the size of a rat brain. They are not fussy at all, they eat everything from skin to bone. When the facial tumour disease were attacking them 90% of them died. Now they are under protection and breading program, and here they are spending their retired life.
There was also a bird show, in which I enjoyed the most that their caretaker were telling stories about them as he would talk about a family member.
