Lake Matheson: Tükör-tó - Mirror Lake
A Fox gleccser egy félórás autóút. Sajnos Phill térde egyáltalán nincsen jól, pedig még fürdőbe is voltunk, ahol 36, 38 és 40 fokos vízben érezhettük újra a Széchenyiben magunkat. Így a gleccserhez nem is mentünk, hanem helyette ehhez a csodás tóhoz kirándultunk, ahol Phill nyugodtan ücsörgött a kávézóban, amíg én körbejárt am a tavat. A kirándulás idillje sajnos csak pár percig tartott, ugyanis valami úgy belecsípett a térdhajlatomba, hogy még órákkal utána is sajog.
De maga a tó a mély kék színével csodálatos. A tökéletes visszatükröződéshez a hajnalt vagy a napnyugtát javasolják, de így is nagyon szép volt. Az erdőben akár 60m-es fenyők nőttek. Apró madárkák röppentek mindenfele. Nem lepődtem volna meg, ha hobbitokat is látok!
The Fox glacier is a half an hour drive from here. It is such a shame that Phill’s knee is not good again, though we went to a hot spa, where in the 36, 38 and 40 degree we could have felt ourselves like in the Széchenyi spa in Budapest. So we didn’t go to the glacier, but we went to this amazing lake, where Phill was sitting comfortable in the café while I was going around the lake. Unfortunately the idill of my excursion was lasted only for a few minutes because I got a big sting behind my knee, which still hurts after a few hours.
But the lake is so beautiful with its dark blue colour. They say the best time for looking the reflection is dawn or dusk, but it was amazing during the daytime as well. In the forest you could see pine trees could reach 60m height. Small birds flying all around you. I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had seen some hobbits as well.
