Wanaka környékén - Around Wanaka
Újabb három napot töltöttünk el, most Wanaka környékén. Valamilyen hihetetlen érzékkel kifogtuk az év legforgalmasabb időszakát, mert egy nagy mezőgazdasági kiállítás volt a városban. Mondanom se kell, hogy ennyi embert összesen nem láttunk eddig, így kimenekültünk a városból és a környéken tettünk kirándulásokat. Olyan jó volna, ha Phill lába nem lenne megsérülve, akkor annyi szép sétát lehetne tenni ezen a mesés szigeten, de most ez van, azért próbáljuk a maximumot kihozni belőle.
Voltunk a Gyémánt-tónál, vagyis oda csak én mentem el. A hegy aljában azt írták 10 perc út, hát biztos, hogy több volt annál! De ha már felmentem a hegyre, gondoltam a kilátó pontot is megnézem, ami egy nagyon intenzív hegymenet volt, sok-sok lépcsővel, de nagy élmény volt a hegyek közelében ilyen magasan lenni.
Elmentünk a szomszédos nagy tavat (Lake Hawea) is megnézni, egy képet sikerült készítenem, ami visszaadja azt a hihetetlen kék színt, amiről már meséltem.
De amit mindenképp szerettem volna látni, az a magányos fűzfa, ami Wanaka-ban a vízben nő. Ez az egyik szimbóluma a városnak, mindig sokan jönnek megnézni. Vicces volt, hogy napementekor is teljes fotós koszorú vette körül a partot. Majd mikor a nap lement és lassan mindenki elindult, madarak szálltak a fára, hogy a társasága továbbra is meglegyen.
We have spent three days, this time around Wanaka. Somehow we managed to pick the most busiest time of the year for our visit, because there was a huge agricultural show in the town. I don't need to say that we haven't seen that many people so far on the island, so we escaped from the town and did some excursion in the area. It would be so great if Phill's knee was not be injured, we could do so many nice walks, but this is the situation now, we try to bring out the maximum from it though.
We stopped at the Diamond Lake, actually just I went up to the hill to see it. At the foot of the hill it was written 10 minutes walk, but it must have taken longer. I decided once I went up then I go to see the lookout as well, which was a very intense steep mountain walk with plenty of steps, but it was such an inspiration to be that high in the Mount Aspiration area.
We visited the other big lake, the Lake Hawea, and I finally managed to take a photo which gives back that unbelievable blue colour what I was already talking about.
But what I really wanted to see, the lonely willow tree, which is growing in the Lake Wanaka. This is one of the symbol of the town, always lots of people come to see it. It was quite funny that at sunset time a huge crowd of photographers were covering the shore. And once the sun went down and started to get dark, everybody started to leave. Then birds flew on the tree to make a company for it after the admiring crowd left.
