Főnixek szálljatok - Fly Phoenix
Leeanne egy igazi hős az én szememben. 27 éves és bár kerekes székben ül, ezt egyszerűen észre se vesszük, mert a táncparketten úgy siklik, mintha mindig is skót táncolt volna. De nem csoda, hiszen, profi kosárlabdázó. Mindig szerettem volna megnézni őt és a csapatát, hogy hogy játszanak és most vasárnap sikerült elmennünk az egyik mérkőzésükre.
A csapatok már javában edzettek, mikor odaértünk. Volt egy pár néző, többnyire a csapattagok rokanai lehettek, így mikor megláttuk Leeanne-t és azt az örömöt az arcán, akkor nagyon megtelt a szívem melegséggel.
Négy 10 perces negyedből állt a mérkőzés, annyi izgalom volt benne, hogy alig tudtunk a végén megülni a kispadon. A szabályokból, amit megértettünk, hogy nem lehet a másik játékoshoz érni, de a székekkel úgy blokkolják egymást, mintha szinkron gurulást mutatnának be, vagy dozsemben ülnének. Volt borulás is, ami nekem nagyon ijesztő volt, de minden játékos segített, aki odafért visszafordítani, az amúgy csúcs szuper, gyors és jól forduló széket és a belőle kiborult játékost.
Leeanne csapata a Főnix (zöldben) nagyszerű csapatjátékot mutatott be. Folyamatos kommunikáció, labdajáték, bravúros dobások a csapat legfiatalabb játékosától is, aki csak 13 éves. Mindenkinek megvolt a maga szerepe és a közönség egyöntetűen dícsérte a kosarakat bárki dobta. Végül 44/34-re nyertek, nagyon megérdemelték.
Leeanne a női ligában is játszik a Vadmacskák csapatában, akiknek nagy szükségük lenne új felszerelésre, segítségre az utazásban a mérkőzésekre. Leeanne is a real hero in my eyes. She is 27 years old and although she is sitting in a wheelchair, we almost could not realize that at all, because she is just so amazing on the dance floor, as she would have been dancing Scottish for ages. But it is not a big surprise because she is a real basketball player. I always wanted to go and see one of their game and this Sunday we finally managed to go.
The teams were doing their warm up once we arrived. There were some other spectators, probably the team's family members, so when Leeanne saw us and the happiness was just coming across her face, it filled up my heart with lots of warm.
There were four 10 minutes quarters and there were so many excitement that we could hardly sit on the side bench. The rules were quite complicated, but what we could understand, that the players should not touch each other, but with their chair they blocking each other, like they do a synchronized rolling or as sitting in a dodgem. There were some fall over, which was pretty frightening for me, but every player, who could get close helped to get back these super speedy and good turning chairs and the fallen over player back.
Leeanne's team the Phoenix (in green) showed a fantastic team-play. They were communicating continuously, great ball leading, brilliant throwing even from the youngest player, who was only 13 years old. Everybody had their special role in the team and the supporters were appreciated when the ball went in the hoop, it was no matter which team scored it. We were so pleased that they finally win 44/34.
Leeanne is also playing in the Women's League for the Wildcats which would need new kits and support for their travels to the games.
