Észak - North

Szeretem ezt a kiírást az utakon, hogy ez az út Északnak vagy Délnek vezet. Skóciában meg az a legviccesebb, hogy úton útfélen egy skót tánc címe köszön rád. Egész más a kapcsolatom azt hiszem, a táncokkal, amikor tudom kötni a helyhez, vagy ismerem a szerzőjét vagy éppen a történetet, ami mögötte áll.

Na de mi most Északnak mentünk. Hídakon keresztül, a táj megint egyik pillanatról a másikra teljesen megváltozott. Magunk mögött hagytuk a hegyeket, drámai tengerpartokat láttunk, kicsi városokat, házakat a semmi közepén, erikával benőtt mezőket, szélerőműveket, homokos tengerpartot, dűnéket.  

John O'Groats, ami a legészakkeletibb falu a főszigeten, 1400 km választja el a legdélnyugatibb Lands End-től. Óriási távolság!

Nagy élmény volt Phillel a legészakibb ponton lenni, ahová együtt jutottunk el, hátunk mögött a Castle of Mey (remek tánc), előttünk az Orkney szigetek, arra gondolni, hogy pár éve Új-Zélandon a déli szigeten Lumsden volt a legdélebbi pont, ahová eljutottunk. 

A Föld hatalmas és tele van csodákkal. Várom a következő kalandunkat.

I like these signs on the roads here in the UK, way to the NORTH or to the SOUTH. In Scotland it makes a trip even more enjoyable that here and there a name of a Scottish dance appears on a sign. I think, I have a very different connection with those dances when I know the name of the place, I know the deviser or even the story behind the dance.

But now we went to the NORTH. Crossed bridges, the landscape changed from one second to the other. We left  the hills behind us, we saw dramatic coastlines, little towns, houses in the middle of nowhere, fields covered with heather, windmills, sandy beaches, dunes.

John O'Groats which is the most northeast village on the mainland is 874 miles away from the most southwest Lands End. Such a huge distance!    

It was a great feeling to be with Phill on the most north point, where we got together so far, the Castle of Mey behind us (lovely dance), in front of us the Orkney Islands, thought about our trip to New Zealand a few years ago, on the South Island Lumsden was the most south point where we got to. 

The Earth is huge and full with magic. I am so much looking forward to our next adventure.
