Burns ünnepség - Burns Night

Január 25-én egész Skócia Robert Burns születésnapját ünnepli. Így tettünk mi is, volt egy közel 100 főt számláló online táncházunk, illetve a keddi szokásos óránk is ebben a szellemben telt.

Valahogy az van bennem, hogy amit tudunk, azt meg kell tenni, hogy egy kicsit ezekben a nehéz hetekben - amikor lehet a napot se látja az ember, folyton otthon van - felrázzuk magunkat és a környezetünket.

A tánccsoport szerencsére nagyon nyitott volt és 18 önkéntest találtam, aki részt vett szívesen egy titkos projektben, amikor is Burns verset olvastunk.

Anyu találta a verset nekünk, két részre osztottuk a csoportot egy angol nyelvű és egy "nemzetközi" részre. 9 különböző nyelven olvastunk a nemzetközi csoportban, miután vagy sikerült fordítást találnunk, vagy mi magunk fordítottuk le a hiányzó nyelvekre az adott sorokat.

Hatalmas élmény volt illetve Phillnek már szinte heroikus küzdelem, hogy a videót elkészítse.

On the 25th January whole Scotland celebrates the birthday of Robert Burns. We did the same and we had an online Ceilidh with close to a 100 participants, and also our usual Tuesday class had the same theme.

Somehow I feel that this is the thing we have to do, in these really hard weeks, when you may not able to see the Sun and being always at home, we need something to shake ourselves and the people who are connected with us.

Our dance group luckily was very open to do some fun and I got 18 volunteers, who were happy to take part in a secret project in which we were reading a Burns poem.

My mum found us the poem, we divided the group for an English speaking and an "International" part. We were reading the poem in nine different languages within the International Project after all we managed to find some translations or translated the giving lines to the missing languages. 

It was such a great experience and for Phill a heroic fight with the computer to prepare the video.
